Vanessa M. Sobers' Experience
Vanessa M. Sobers is a senior marketing executive and brand strategist with over two decades of experience leading enterprise-wide brand strategy and driving commercial growth, portfolio transformation, and consumer-centric innovation for global beauty, CPG, and lifestyle brands. Her expertise lies at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and operational execution—guiding companies through brand revitalization, omnichannel acceleration, and organizational scaling. She brings deep capabilities in consumer insights, performance media, CRM, e-commerce, and AI-powered personalization. She is recognized for shaping bold, insight-driven strategies that enhance both brand equity and business performance.
As Global Vice President of Marketing at Helen of Troy Limited, she led the transformation of a $ 350 million+ beauty portfolio, including Revlon, Hot Tools, Bed Head, and Drybar. Under her leadership, the business achieved 12 consecutive quarters of growth, with net revenue increasing by 68% and profit expanding by more than 160%. She built and scaled digital ecosystems, CRM and automation programs, and AI-informed content strategies that delivered measurable impact across retail, DTC, and Amazon channels. She also guided the creative and content strategy behind the Revlon Volumizer franchise, which became a four-time #1 Amazon best-seller with over 500,000 five-star reviews and multiple industry awards. In parallel, she played a key leadership role in brand-led M&A activities, helping to identify and integrate portfolio acquisitions that supported long-term category growth and enterprise value.
Earlier in her career, she held senior marketing and brand leadership roles at Hasbro, PepsiCo, and Coors Brewing Company, where she launched global brand platforms, built innovation pipelines, and delivered market-leading activations in collaboration with partners including Disney, EA Sports, and Google. As a consultant, she advised clients including ExxonMobil and Rice University, with a focus on brand and product positioning, CRM transformation, go-to-market strategy, and digital partnerships.
She holds an MBA in Marketing from Bentley University and a BA in Economics from Hollins University. Fluent in Spanish, she has served on the boards of Bentley University and the nonprofit Susie Bean Gives. She has also contributed as a panel speaker at Harvard Business School’s 10th Annual Leadership Summit, the Boston Women’s Leadership Institute, and national multicultural leadership forums.
With a rare blend of creative leadership, operational rigor, and commercial strategy, she drives brand-led organizations toward market leadership and sustained enterprise growth.
