Ross Marshall's Experience
Strategy · Market Entry · Partnerships · AI-Enabled Growth
Ross Marshall is a senior strategy and growth advisor who works with founders and executive teams to clarify direction, accelerate market entry, and unlock partnerships that materially change a company’s trajectory.
With more than 15 years of experience across biotech, financial services, professional services, and technology-enabled organizations, Ross is typically engaged at moments of inflection—pre-revenue, pre-fundraise, new market entry, or strategic reset. His work focuses on helping leaders make disciplined strategic choices, pressure-test assumptions, and translate vision into focused, executable plans that lead to real traction.
Ross is known for operating at the intersection of strategy, partnerships, and data- and AI-enabled decision-making, helping organizations move beyond internal optimization toward external leverage and growth. He brings a pragmatic, systems-level perspective shaped by how companies actually allocate capital, build credibility, and navigate complex or regulated markets.
Most recently, Ross served as Head of Community Engagement for BioversityMA at MassBio, where he architected a multi-year strategy connecting industry, academia, and public-sector stakeholders across Massachusetts. His work strengthened cross-sector partnerships, influenced workforce and talent strategies aligned with industry demand, and expanded MassBio’s footprint across Greater Boston and the Merrimack Valley.
Previously, as Senior Director of Advisory at MassBio, Ross founded and scaled the organization’s advisory practice into a revenue-generating strategic function. He advised C-suite leaders on strategic alignment, organizational design, and performance frameworks, while developing metrics to support decision-making and measure impact. His approach emphasized clarity, focus, and execution discipline rather than operational busywork.
Earlier in his career, Ross co-founded and led a boutique strategy consultancy serving mid-market organizations, advising on enterprise strategy, data-driven decision systems, and growth initiatives. He began his career at KPMG, leading large-scale transformation and strategy engagements for Fortune 500 clients across multiple geographies.
Ross holds a Bachelor of Science from Bates College and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s General Management Program. He brings a calm, analytical, and results-driven approach to helping leaders navigate complexity, enter new markets, and build durable, scalable businesses.
