Stephen Gregorio emerges as a preeminent leader in the high-tech financial sector, boasting over thirty-five years of unparalleled expertise as a Chief Financial Officer for nine software companies. Following his six years at the Big 8 accounting firm of Arthur Andersen where he obtained his CPA license and left as a senior manager, his career is highlighted by strategic and operational roles where he has excelled as the pivotal CFO for numerous high-tech enterprises. Stephen’s exceptional journey encompasses leading a company through a successful initial public offering (IPO), adeptly managing its post-IPO trajectory, and masterfully orchestrating multiple mergers and acquisitions from both acquirer and acquiree perspectives.

His proficiency extends to raising over $1 billion in equity and debt capital, executing several complex recapitalizations, and managing various aspects of the operation including Finance, HR, IT, Legal, and Revenue Operations. In these capacities, he has skillfully negotiated a myriad of customer, partnership, vendor, and channel agreements, showcasing his deep understanding of the financial and legal intricacies of the tech sector and his companies’ business models. He also built strong finance and executive teams, putting in place the right processes and critical metrics for the companies to achieve, and often worked with his various boards as secretary and treasurer.

At the core of his achievements is his instrumental role in the sale of Black Duck Software to Synopsys for $565 million in December 2017 and the acquisition of XebiaLabs by TPG in January 2020, followed by 3 acquisitions on the Digital.ai platform in 2020 during Covid. His strategic foresight and financial stewardship have been crucial in these transformative transactions, emphasizing his ability to effectively shape the high-tech financial landscape.

Stephen’s extensive portfolio also includes advisory and board positions across a spectrum of tech ventures, including Fairmarkit, RNMKRS, Verse Gaming, Diverg, Rave Wireless, Osprey Software, and others. His strategic insights and financial expertise in working with these management teams have been integral to these companies’ growth and success, solidifying his stature as a pivotal figure in the tech industry. He will often serve as the Board’s Audit Committee Chair.
